Over 60s Classes



Our Over 60s Pilates classes are recommended for those who have no serious injuries and who like the social aspect of a class environment.

The classes use both the pilates equipment as well as small apparatus – balls, bands, rings and foam rollers – to support you and also to challenge you.  

The classes are a great way to maintain and improve mobility, balance and co-ordination, strength and endurance and all at a great price. 

If you are new to Pilates you may wish to have an initial 1:1 first. 

If you have been referred to Pilates by an osteopath, physiotherapist or chiropractor, or if you have had a recent injury, then you should definitely consider starting with some 1:1 tuition to assess your individual needs.

According to recent research, taking up exercise in your 60s will still help stave off major ill health and dementia, research suggests.  The study in the British Journal of Sports Medicine followed 3,500 healthy people at or around retirement age.

Those who took up exercise were three times more likely to remain healthy over the next eight years than their sedentary peers.  Exercise cut the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease and depression.
